We get students flying with us from all over the country but the majority would have to be from Canberra. And why wouldn’t they. It’s just a 2 hour drive and they can learn to fly from Canberra over the beautiful South Coast and away from pesky controlled airspace. Plus when our Canberra students come to fly here they often remark on how much more flying they get for their money (compared with training in Canberra). The lesson starts as soon as we are airborne as there is no need to transit out of the controlled airspace to an area of sky where learning is actually permitted!
And you really can’t argue with the spectacular scenery. In the months of July to September students are flat our concentrating on the horizon and trying to ignore all the migrating whales that they can see below, out of their Foxbat window.
Training for Canberra students can be completely tailored to their availability and we often run intense weekend and week long training for those that want to get the most out of their stay here. But don’t take our word for it. Come check it out your self. At worst it will be a lovely Sunday drive!
